All London airports operate their own terminal drop-off and waiting policies. These charges are set by the airport authorities and are outside the control of Mason & Green. We include the basic drop charge in our fares. To be transparant, we have outlined the current drop-off charges and time limits at each major London airport below.
Heathrow operates a mandatory terminal drop-off charge for vehicles using the forecourt areas. The charge is £7 per visit, with a maximum stay of 10 minutes. Vehicles remaining beyond the permitted time may be subject to enforcement action or penalty charges issued by the airport.
If additional time is required to assist passengers, we recommend using official short-stay parking, which allows more flexibility but is charged separately according to Heathrow’s published parking tariffs.
Gatwick Airport charges £10 for up to 10 minutes in the terminal drop-off zone. After this period, additional charges apply on a per-minute basis. Remaining in the drop-off area longer than the permitted time can result in higher fees.
For passengers requiring extra assistance or longer drop-off times, short-stay parking is often a more suitable option.
Stansted’s Express Set-Down area is charged at £7 for up to 15 minutes. Stays exceeding 15 minutes may increase significantly, with higher charges applied by the airport.
Due to the strict time limits at Stansted, we strongly advise prompt drop-offs or pre-arranged parking if additional time is needed.
Luton Airport applies a terminal drop-off charge of £7 for up to 10 minutes, with incremental charges applied for each additional minute thereafter. A maximum stay limit applies within the drop-off zone.
If extended waiting time is anticipated, official airport parking should be considered to avoid escalating fees.
London City Airport has traditionally offered direct terminal drop-off without a standard charge. The charge is now £8.00 for upto 5 minutes then £1.00 applied for each additional minute thereafter. However, stopping time is limited, and airport traffic enforcement may apply if vehicles remain longer than permitted. Policies at London City Airport may change, and further charges can be introduced at short notice.
Airport drop-off zones are designed for short stops only. Any waiting time beyond the airport’s permitted drop-off allowance may result in additional charges, parking fees, or penalty notices issued directly by the airport authority.
Where extended waiting is required — such as assisting with luggage, travel documents, or accompanying passengers — Mason & Green can plan for official short-stay parking in advance. Any airport parking or additional waiting charges are passed on at cost, in line with airport tariffs.
