Practical local guidance for visitors travelling around Brent, with key neighbourhoods, attractions, transport connections and private-transfer planning.

Brent Travel & Transfer Guide

Explore the London Borough of Brent, including its history, main areas, attractions, transport, dining, hidden gems and local ambiance.

Brent is home to Wembley Stadium, one of the largest Hindu temples outside India and some of north-west London's most diverse neighbourhoods. Event days here need careful transport planning.

Wembley and beyond

Wembley is the name most visitors know. The rebuilt Wembley Stadium opened in 2007, with its signature arch visible across much of north-west London, and the neighbouring OVO Arena Wembley hosts concerts and sport throughout the year. The surrounding Wembley Park area has grown into a district of new homes, shops and hotels.

Beyond Wembley, Brent includes Kilburn, Willesden, Harlesden, Kensal Rise, Queen's Park and Neasden. Neasden is home to the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, a hand-carved stone temple that opened in 1995 and welcomes visitors. Brent was London Borough of Culture in 2020, reflecting its strong community arts scene.

Places worth knowing

  • Wembley Stadium and OVO Arena for major football, rugby, concerts and events.
  • BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Neasden for its remarkable carved architecture.
  • Roundwood Park and Gladstone Park, with views back towards central London.
  • Welsh Harp (Brent Reservoir) for birdwatching and sailing on the borough's northern edge.

Getting in and out

Wembley Park is served by the Jubilee and Metropolitan lines, Wembley Central by the Bakerloo line and Overground, and Wembley Stadium station by Chiltern trains to Marylebone. Kilburn and Willesden Green are on the Jubilee line. The A406 North Circular and A5 Edgware Road are the main roads, with the M1 reached from Staples Corner.

Airport transfers from Brent

Heathrow is usually the most convenient airport, reached via the A406 and A40 or local routes. Luton is well placed via the M1. Stansted and Gatwick involve longer cross-London journeys. Allow more time on weekday evenings when the North Circular is at its busiest.

Event days at Wembley

On stadium and arena event days, road closures and parking restrictions apply around Wembley Park, and traffic can build for hours before and after. If you are travelling to an event, we agree a drop-off point outside the restricted area in advance. If you are flying on an event day, we plan an earlier collection from addresses near the stadium.
