From the Tower to Canary Wharf
The Tower of London, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, guards the borough's western edge. Close by are St Katharine Docks and Wapping, where old warehouses line the river. To the north, Spitalfields and Brick Lane are known for markets, curry houses and Georgian streets, and Columbia Road holds a famous Sunday flower market.
Further east, the Isle of Dogs and Canary Wharf form one of Europe's main business districts, built on the former West India Docks. Limehouse, Bow, Mile End and Poplar have their own East End histories, and Victoria Park, opened in the 1840s, is one of London's best-loved parks.

Getting in and out
Whitechapel and Canary Wharf are on the Elizabeth line, which connects directly to Heathrow, Paddington and Liverpool Street. The DLR links Tower Gateway, Bank, Canary Wharf and London City Airport, and the District, Hammersmith & City, Central and Jubilee lines also cross the borough. The A13, A11 and the Rotherhithe and Blackwall tunnels are the main road links.
Airport transfers from Tower Hamlets
London City Airport is very close to Canary Wharf and the Docklands. Heathrow is reached via the Embankment and A4, and Stansted via the A12 and M11. Gatwick is reached via the Rotherhithe or Blackwall tunnels and the A2 or A23. Canary Wharf has its own private estate roads with set drop-off points, which we use for business collections.
